A part of a giant statue of a pharaoh was discovered in Egypt

During excavations in Minya, an international team of archaeologists found the upper part of a giant statue of Pharaoh Ramses II. This was reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt.

The upper part of the giant statue of the pharaoh was discovered during the excavations of the ancient city of Hermopolis, which is located near the modern city of Al-Ashmunin in Minya. According to Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the High Council of Archaeology, part of the limestone statue is the missing upper part of the statue of Ramses II, which was discovered in the 1930s by German archaeologist H. Roeder. The fragment of the statue is about 3.8 meters high.
